PUBLISHER'S NOTE

When Colonel Hunter wrote PEP in 1914 andoffered it to The Reilly & Britton Company, weimmediately accepted the manuscript for publication. So highly did we regard the work thatthe president of this company, over his signature, contributed an introductory note of endorsement, citing his own experience in following therules and principles laid down in PEP for theattainment of "poise, efficiency and peace."

Our confidence and belief in PEP were amplyjustified. Eight large editions were printed infour years. Over 70,000 copies have been sold.

THINK—the last book that Colonel Hunterwrote—is now published for the first time. Itis especially important, coming, as it does, at atime when commonsense thinking, good health, good cheer, optimism and rational methods ofliving are more necessary than ever before.

In this trenchantly written volume, ColonelHunter has given some golden advice to the manor woman who is facing the big problems ofto-day in a wavering or hopeless spirit. Correctyour thinking. Get a grip on yourself. ColonelHunter tells you how.

The nervous energy is like a barrel of water—youcan draw water from the faucet at the bot[Pg 8]tomuntil you have almost exhausted the contents.

Nature mends ordinary nerve waste each day, like the rains replenish the cistern.

ConserveYourEnergy.

A reasonable use of your nerve force, like areasonable use of the rainwater, means you canmaintain a permanent supply. Butyou must be reasonable; you mustgive the cistern a chance to refill andreplace that which you have drawn out.

You, who
